Let's explore the process of bringing images in from a Lightroom library into ACDSee. The process is pretty straightforward. Since we've already consolidated our library to a target drive ACDSee makes it easy to bring those files in.

People often enjoy star trail photography, and that works great, but rather than having to do everything in camera, where you take a multiple hour long exposure and you might get it right, I'm going to show you how simple this is to do by just shooting a time lapse sequence. What you can do is easily capture several images over time and then blend them together. Here's how.

While I do most of my shooting with a DSLR or mirrorless camera, there are times I turn to an aerial camera, such as a drone, or an action camera. These types of cameras have some real advantages, including the ability to get a unique position, or a very interesting angle. Whether it's from above or point of view, you can really capture some shots that are hard to get otherwise. But, these types of cameras do have their challenges. The shots tend to be heavily compressed, and a lot of details and color are usually lost. Fortunately, Luminar makes it easy to bring it all back.

At this year's NAB, I was invited to kickoff the conference as a guest on their live broadcast. I had a chance to talk about changes in the world of educating creative professionals. If you fly a drone, quadcopter, model airplane, or UAS in the United States airspace, the Federal Aviation Administration wants you to register your device. These new regulations went into effect today, December 21, 2o15. While the process of restoring takes less than 5 minutes, there are a lot of hidden details buried within the numerous government documents about UAS registration.
I've dug deep into every document that I could find and have put together a comprehensive look at the new regulations. If you fly, or are thinking about buying a drone I'd strongly suggest watching this tutorial.

It costs only $5 to register your UAS and the process is simple and web-based. Registration is free for the first 30 days. Some things you'll need before you get started:
An email address
Your registration is valid for three years. Once you receive a registration number, you can use it on all of your unmanned aircraft if they meet the online registration criteria.
A company that I've been working with is Piqsure. They are about to roll out their public beta to allow people to post their images in cool new ways (including high-resolution viewing on blogs and social media).
